The Beginning of The Grift Sense
This is the beginning.
Why Should You Care?
I believe we are all quite similar in one fundamental way: by our very nature, we each seek out what is advantageous for our own well-being. While this might sound obvious, I feel we often forget this crucial fact when evaluating other people's decisions, actions, and life choices. We tend to forget that people always act in ways they believe are best for themselves.
Understanding this, I believe I can offer you, my dear reader, a valuable service. I can provide information that could potentially give you an advantage in your own life.
Why Me?
I've done and learned many things that have put me in a unique, sometimes awkward, position. I've been honing my "Grift Sense" since I was a teenager, which has led me to think and act in ways some people might find unacceptable. Not that my actions were illegal (though sometimes they were), but rather, people often don't accept or understand the decisions and actions I've made and will continue to make.
I've been an outcast and was even considered a "danger to society" at one point (you can probably guess the time period!). However, I've never considered other people to be "others," "inferior," or "below me." As I mentioned in the first paragraphs, I truly believe we are all equal; we simply operate with different information and experiences.
What Is This Blog About?
The goal of this blog is very simple. I will concisely debunk myths and misinformation, striving to provide genuine value to anyone reading. In my view, many people are misled, wasting time and money on completely nonsensical stupid things. As I see it, "In the Land of the Blind, the One-Eyed Man is King." I don't take this quote lightly or use it just to sound cool; I live by it, and see it all around me.
This is also a personal research project for me. I've wasted so much time on irrelevant things. For example, just a few days ago, I spent a lot of time (I was obsessed) learning how to crack commercially available software that costs very little money. I believe that by writing this blog, I can personally consolidate information, identify the best actions based on that information, and generally improve my own life. It will also force me to research more deeply into subjects I haven't had time for yet.
Why Today?
This isn't actually my first attempt at something like this. I've already written a book, Powerful Tools to Empower People by Elvis Graholskis (you can find it on Amazon), where I tried to do something similar. However, I didn't promote the book, and I didn't like being confined to a particular theme. For instance, I wrote a chapter on "Deception Detection" simply because I knew a lot about it, but it didn't really fit the book's overall message. With this blog, however, I feel I can write about whatever I want.
Today also marks the first day of my "No YouTube" challenge. I have a personal addiction to YouTube, and I want to quit this soul-sucking platform for a while. I simply can't stand the majority of the mindless crap there, and I want to curb my own mindless behavior on the platform, watching stupid and misleading content.
I feel that we, or perhaps I personally, should act more from within. While it's impossible to completely avoid interacting with others and exist in a vacuum, changing what we consume is the first step toward staying on course with our own life, rather than constantly reacting to the latest "news" or someone else's YouTube video and changing what we do because of that.
Thank you for reading.
